 21 July (Reuters) On the first day of the second test against the West Indies in Port of Spain on Thursday, Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja produced a century partnership for the unbroken fifth wicket to lead India to 288-4.

India got off to a good start at the Queen’s Park Oval in their innings after being put into bat thanks to an opening stand of 139 between captain Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal.

However, they lost four wickets in the second session, almost blowing the momentum they had built up, before Kohli and Jadeja teamed up for a 106-run stand to keep the innings steady.

Kohli, playing in his 500th international game, was batting on 87 in with Jadeja on 36 at the other end.

Both Rohit and Jaiswal had smashed hundreds in the opening test in Roseau, where India triumphed inside three days to go 1-0 up in the two-test series, and they picked up right where they left off.
